It is a growth hormone secretagogue (GHS), it is a first generation peptide, apart from releasing growth hormone it produces intense hunger combined with an improvement in gastric motility. May slightly increase cortisol and prolactin.

The saturation dose is 1mcg/kg, normally the dose used is always 100mcg 3-5 times a day, in total 300-500mcg.
